Neil E. Pick Obituary
Neil E. Pick, 89, a resident of Montgomery, PA, passed away on Tuesday, March 12, 2019 at his residence. Born Sunday, July 28, 1929 at Dewart, Northumberland Co., PA he was a son of the late George and Ernestine (Burrows) Pick. Neil was the husband of Jane (Poust) Pick with whom he celebrated a 69th wedding anniversay on July 28, 2018.
He was a 1947 graduate of Montgomery-Clinton High School. Neil honorably served his country with the US Army during World War II. Neil retired in 1990 from the former Prismo at Montgomery where he was employed as a service technician. In 2003 he retired from Susquehanna Health after 11 years of service. Neil was a member of the Muncy First United Methodist Church.
He was an avid outdoorsman and enjoyed hunting, fishing and trapping and was a member of the White Deer Valley Hunting Club. In younger days he belonged to an archery club and traveled to the national archery tournament in Michigan with friends. Neil enjoyed playing golf and was a member of the White Deer Golf Course. Most importantly, Neil was an avid Penn State fan.
In addition to his wife, Neil is survived by two children, Roseann (Barry) Snyder of Mechanicsburg, PA; Dr. David L. (Tonya) Pick of Port Matilda, PA; five grandchildren, Danny (Tanya) McCarty of Carthage, NY; DeAnn (Randy) Goeman of Carthage, NY; James Neil McCarty of Montgomery, PA; Jaime (Jason) Kichline of Mechanicsburg, PA; David Neil Pick of Port Matilda, PA; seven great-grandchildren, David (Jessica) Snyder; Bradley (Jessica) Goeman; Seth McCarty; Lindsay McCarty; Kaitlyn McCarty; Eli Kichline; Ella Kichline; two great-great-grandchildren, Connor Goeman; Macie Goeman and two sisters, Patty Marshall of Watsontown, PA and Dianne Felix of Montgomery, PA.
Neil was preceded in death by two brothers, Donald Pick; Dale Pick; one great-grandson, Bailey McCarty; one great-great-grandson, Dillon Goeman and two brothers-in-law, John Felix and James Marshall. Funeral services will be conducted on Friday, March 15, 2019 at 11:00 A.M. from the Muncy First United Methodist Church, 602 S. Market Street, Muncy, PA 17756 with the Reverend Arlene P. Beechert, his pastor, officiating.
Friends may call at the church on Friday from 10:00 - 11:00 A.M. Interment will be in the Muncy Cemetery. If desired, memorial contributions may be made to the Muncy First United Methodist Church.
