He was predeceased by: his wife Tanya Bernard (McMannis); his daughter Dorothy Mary Bernard; his parents, William A. and Mary Bernard, Sr. (Berta); and his siblings, Florence, Robert, Thomas and June.

He is survived by: his children, William T. Bernard, Tammy S. Aikins (Charlie) and Brandi M. Bernard (Heather Champion); and his grandsons, William Bernard, Tyler and Carson Aikins. He is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
