He was predeceased by: his wife Martha Lois Muir; his son Wayne Muir Jr. (Joyce); his parents, Daniel Muir and Anna Muir; his brother Daniel Muir; and his sister-in-law Linda Stanko.
He is survived by: his children, Caryn Wisnewski (Andy), David Muir (Kim), Aimee Jakubik (Michael), Adina Busch (Jack), Amanda Anderson (Jason), Sabrina Muir, Brandon Muir, Charlene Muir (Ramonee) and Brittany Muir (Mike); and his great grandchildren, Katlyn, Joseph, Sydney, Chris, Brian, Ethan, Tyler, Amyah, Cameron, Dakota, Alexander, Jeremiah, Royalty, Princeton and Aria. He is also survived by several nieces and nephews.
