She was predeceased by : her parents, Lindsay F. Laughrey and Ann Jane Laughrey (DeVoe); her spouse Lyn Scott Tafel; and her sister Suzanne "Sue" Ballard. She is also survived by nieces, nephews.

Visitation was held on Sunday, June 30th 2024 at 1:00 PM at the Jaycox-Jaworski Funeral Home & Crematory (2703 Oneil Blvd, McKeesport, PA 15132). A funeral service was held on Sunday, June 30th 2024 at 3:00 PM at the Jaycox-Jaworski Funeral Home Chapel (2703 Oneil Blvd, McKeesport, PA 15132).
