He was predeceased by: his spouse Ann E. Baumeister (Somers); and his parents, Herman Frederick and Mildred Winnifred Baumeister. He is survived by: his children, Elsie Cooper (Johnnie), Lewis Culbertson (Patricia) and Sharon Campbell (James); and his siblings, Dennis Baumeister and Nancy Morris. He is also survived by 13 grandchildren; numerous great-grandchildren; and great-great-grandchildren.
