He was loved and cherished by many people including: his parents, John D. Matoney and Florence Matoney; his siblings, Joanne Lewkowicz (late Ed), Patty Smith (Lee), Dan Matoney and Gary Matoney; his spouse Shay Matoney; his children, John P. Matoney (Sandra), Janeen Jesse (Joshua), Joy Matoney, Jennifer Caliskan (Bora), Patti Bardy (Erik), Mary Matoney, Ashley Fogal (Richard) and Chase Doerflinger; and his grandchildren, Hunter, Archer, Brianna, Melodi, Christian, Daniel, Ela, Madeleine, Attie, Emma, Carly, Jed, Asa, Zadie and Vivian.

Visitation was held on Sunday, October 13th 2024 from 1:00 PM to 4:00 PM at the Gene H. Corl Funeral Chapel Inc. (4335 Northern Pike, Monroeville, PA 15146). A memorial service was held on Sunday, October 13th 2024 from 4:00 PM to 5:00 PM at the same location.
