He was predeceased by: his parents, Joseph John Steitzer Sr. and Margaret Heylek Steitzer; his son Brian J. Steitzer; his brother Richard Steitzer; and his brother-in-law Donald Smith.
He is survived by: his wife Betty Jane Place; his children, Bradley Joseph Steitzer (Karen Kinner) of East Athens and Brenda J. Munkittrick (Donald) of Monroeton; his grandchildren, Stephenie Hoelscher (Kyle) of Lexington, KY, Justin Steitzer of Chicago, IL, Melanie McGuire of Monroeton, Mark Munkittrick (Angie) of Lititz, PA and Thomas Munkittrick (Wendy Harriman) of Lancaster, PA; his great grandchildren, Adela, Sophia Hoelscher, Arielle Kinner, Elizabeth, Aiden, Grady McGuire, Isabella and Max Munkittrick; his sister Helen Smith of Winter Park, FL; and his sister-in-law Nedra Steitzer of Hornell, NY. He is also survived by several nieces, nephews and cousins.
The family suggests that contributions may be directed to Towanda Elks Lodge No. 2191, 929 S. Main St. Towanda, PA 18848 in memory of Joseph John Steitzer Jr. The Maryott-Bowen Funeral Home of Towanda is assisting Joe's Family with arrangements.
