He was predeceased by: his grandson Garrick; and his siblings, Willard Harkness (Hilda), Harry Harkness (Mary), George Harkness (Eleanor), Marion Harkness, Eleanor Layng Moryan (Jim), Dorothy Possemato (Anthony) and Marcia "Jane" Harkness.
He is survived by: his wife Shirley J. Harkness; and his daughters, Lynn (Kenneth Yoder), Deborah (Rich Howard), Mary (Richard Cummings), Donna (Rick Cisco), Beth (Greg Murphy) and Louise (Barry Summey). He is also survived by 10 grandchildren, 15 great grandchildren, brother and sister-in-law, Arthur and Marie Harkness of East Canton, sister-in-law and brother-in-law, Lena and William Struppler of Roanoke, VA, brothers-in-law, William "Bill" Franklin of Phelps, NY, Jack Franklin of Clifton Springs, NY as well as numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.
