Sophie J. Racunas Obituary
With heavy hearts, we announce the death of Sophie J. Racunas of Monongahela, Pennsylvania, born in Acme, Pennsylvania, who passed away on December 26, 2024 at the age of 102. Family and friends are welcome to send flowers or leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
She was predeceased by: her parents, John Malisky and Agnes Malisky; her husband Bernard R. Racunas; her son James D. Racunas; her sons-in-law, Michael Vonsik and Edward Hensler; and her siblings, John Malicki Jr., Joseph Malisky and Millie Vezie.
She is survived by: her children, Bernard J. Racunas (Mary) of New Kensington, Connie A. Vonsik of Harrison City and Cindy J. Hensler of North Fayette; her grandchildren, Stacy Newsome (Michael), Jason Vonsik (Amy), Daniel Hensler, Victoria Hensler, Stephen Racunas and Paul Racunas; and her great grandchildren, Ella, Reagan, Braden, Sarah and Faith. She is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
Visitation was held on Saturday, December 28th 2024 from 9:00 AM to 11:00 AM at the Marshall Marra Funeral Home (216 Chess St, Monongahela, PA 15063). A Mass of Christian burial was held on Saturday, December 28th 2024 at 11:30 AM at the St. Andrew the Apostle Parish (722 W Main St, Monongahela, PA 15063).
