It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Hugh C. Carey of Monongahela, Pennsylvania, born in Avella, Pennsylvania, who passed away on December 21, 2021, at the age of 85, leaving to mourn family and friends. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
He was predeceased by: his parents, Robert S. Carey and Minnie Grace Mechling Carey; his daughter Sharlene McBride; his stepson Jeff Applebee; and his siblings, Robert Carey, Betty Myers and Sally McIllvaine.
He is survived by: his wife Mildred Dougherty Carey; his daughters, Terry Carey of Eighty Four and Janice Hubbell of Bentleyville; his stepchildren, Janice Applebee of Monongahela, Pat Gregg of Moon and Tom (Kay Applebee) of Hooper, NE; his grandchildren, Tiffany, Cody Knetzer, Chase, Chad Hubbell and Brandon Carey; and his stepgrandchildren, Ashley Kirby, Amy Villella, Jeffrey and Douglas Applebee. He is also survived by four great grandchildren; one step great granddaughter; several nieces and nephews.
