He was predeceased by: his parents, Frank Gonzales and Helen Ziemba Gonzales; and his former wife Marilyn Uram Gonzales. He is survived by: his granddaughter Katy Chaney; his wife Sheila Gonzales; his children, Michele Jones (Chris), Melissa Foust (Robert), Nancy Gant (Jim) and Col. John Gonzales (Nicole) of Germany; his stepchildren, Eddie, Jimmy and Nikki; his grandchildren, Mindi Duncan (Dave), Amy Mitchell (Adam), Kristina Jones, James Chaney, Emily Chaney, Gavin Caufman, Gabriella Gant, Madeleine Gonzales, Michael Gonzales, Anna Gonzales, Danielle Gonzales and Frances Gonzales; and his sisters, Alice Jester (Harry) and Diane Devine (Bill). He is also survived by many nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.

In lieu of flowers Sonny's family suggests that memorial contributions in his name, may be made to the St. Vincent DePaul Society Monessen, PA, the American Cancer Society, St. Jude Children's Hospital or a Veterans Organization of your, choice.
