He was predeceased by: his father Donald L. Gillespie, Sr.; and his wife Kathy DeSimone Gillespie. He is survived by: his mother Martha D. Gillespie; his daughters, Stephanie Pryor and Annie Doty (David); his sisters, Donna Keifer (David), Cindi Haines (Ron) and Diane Ruggiero (Joe); and his pet Noot. He is also survived by several nieces, nephews, great-nieces, great-nephews, and his devoted.
