He was loved and cherished by many people including: his parents, Daniel L. Wineland and Viola Wineland (Aten); his wife Gloria Aulicino Wineland; his children, Dana O'Rourke (Timothy) of Monongahela, Terri Wineland of Elizabeth Township, Dean Wineland (Riza) of San Fernando, La Union, Philippines, Ronald Wineland (Mary) of Monongahela and Roger Wineland (Stephanie) of Monongahela; his grandchildren, Timothy O'Rourke (Kelli), Daniel O'Rourke (Lauren), Krista Ruth (Ross), Sean Wineland and Rhiannon Wineland; his great grandchildren, Karli Sutton, Brady, Quinnlynn, Murphy, Kaden and Gianna O'Rourke; his sisters, Ruth Kenny, Carolyn Sweeney (Jonathan) and Esther McCarty; and his brother-in-law Roger Aulicino (Sharon).
