He was predeceased by: his parents, Clarence Holmes and Clara Holmes (Hampe); his wife Sophie Holmes (Mazurek); and his brothers, Bill and Kenny Holmes.
He is survived by: his sons, Edward P. Holmes (Anita) of Monessen and James S. Holmes (Gloria) of Monroeville; his grandchildren, Erin Grabowski (Michael), Aimee Castor (Chris), Bethany Lewis (Franklin), Erica Jones (Jeff), Scott Holmes (Genesis) and Daniel Holmes; and his siblings, Robert Holmes of Vandergrift, Inez Swartz of Belleville, IL and Jean Holmes of Vandergrift.
