He was predeceased by: his parents, James Mateer and Elizabeth Mateer (Todd); his wife Bernice Mateer (Eaton); and his siblings, Carl Mateer, George Mateer (Freda), James Mateer (Muriel), Emmett Mateer (Mae Dawn), Harry Mateer (Esther), Mae Unholtz (Karl), Elojeane Weaton (Ralph), Mary Snyder (Francis), Doris Wagner (George), Gladith Danis and Myrna Conkle (Harold).
He is survived by: his sons, Jeff, John Mateer (Lisa) and Jeffrey Mateer (Traci); his stepchildren, Richard Davies (Donna), Susan Cramer and Beverly Davies; his grandchildren, Steven Mateer (Donna), David Mateer (Marissa), Eva St George (Damien), Kodie Mateer, Dustin Mateer, Kaylee Mateer and Kane Mateer; and his friend Louise Hawrylak. He is also survived by three great grandchildren, numerous nieces and nephews.
