He was predeceased by: his parents, Viola Mitchell (Gaston) and Nicholas Sittaro; his son Vincent Mitchell; his granddaughter Zara Zoo Slapkowski; and his brothers, Samuel Balthaser and George Mitchell.

He is survived by: his wife Suzanne Mitchell (Ritter); and his stepsons, Thomas (Michelle Slapkowski) and Travis Slapkowski.
