He was predeceased by: his parents, Lyman Schaeffer and Phoebe Schaeffer. He is survived by: his children, Tammy (Craig Werley), Wendy (Matthew Harley), Tracey (Bryan Anastasio) and Douglass M. Schaeffer, Jr.; his grandchildren, Cory, Kirstin, Michael, Brittney, Brooke, Deana, Matthew Jr., Nakita, Jessica, Sania, Erika and Samantha; and his great grandchildren, Skylar, Lacey, Elijah, Zariah, Bradley Jr., Aylana, Alexia, Damian, Zayden and Nolan. He is also survived by nieces and nephews.
