He was predeceased by: his parents, Arthur J. Groff and Ella M. Groff (Bowman); and his siblings, Arthur A. Groff and Joyce McLaughlin. He is survived by: his wife Patricia M. Groff (Fry); his children, Barry D. Groff (Donald Zauck) of Sinking Spring and Donna A. Uribe (Jose) of Florida; and his sisters, Ethel A. Depue and Connie A. Hollinger. He is also survived by several nieces and nephews.
