He was predeceased by: his parents, George E. Flanagan, Sr. and Viola Reed Flanagan; and his sisters, Helen Flanagan and Mary Smyser. He is survived by: his wife Mary Sabol Flanagan; his children, Cathleen Stone (Michael) and George E. Flanagan III (Jaclyn); his grandchildren, Gavin, Lydia Stone, Colin and Brady Flanagan; his pet Panda; and his sisters, Edie Nocket and Barbara Woodford. He is also survived by nieces and nephews.
In lieu of flowers, the family prefers donations to the American Hose Company, 323 W Norwegian St, Pottsville, or the Mountaineer Hose Company, 297 South St, Minersville.
