He was predeceased by: his parents, William H. Bowers and Bertha P. Bowers (Sinsabaugh); his son Bud Bowers; and his brothers, George and Stewart Bowers.
He is survived by: his wife Barbara E. Phelps; and his children, William H. (Heidi Bowers), Kimberly D. Whipple of Milton, Carol Splat of Mount Wolf and Robin Chohany of York. He is also survived by nine grandchildren and six great grandchildren.
