She was predeceased by: her parents, George Smith and Mable Smith (Zigenfus); her spouse William Hackenberg; her siblings, Paul Smith of Illinois, Carol Fultz of McClure, Audrey Buxton of Illinois and Darlene Litzinger of South Carolina; and her son Blaine Hackenberg.
She is survived by: her daughters, Brenda Dickerson of Georgia and Susan Spotts of Pittsburgh; her stepdaughters, Stephanie English, Stacey Berry, Tina Ziegler and Brenda Mader; and her close friend Howard Morick. She is also survived by six grandchildren; 12 great grandchildren.
