He was predeceased by: his parents, Giovanni Balsamo and Rosa Balsamo (Conigliaro); his former wife Maria (Pistone); his daughters, Rosa Abate and Benedetta Catania; and his siblings, Vincenzo Balsamo, Rosalia Puccio and Angela Balsamo.
He is survived by: his wife Antonina (Seminara); his children, Giovanni (Rosalia Balsamo), Pino Balsamo of Italy, Vito (Sasha Balsamo), Salvatore (Anna Balsamo) and Maria; his son-in-law Franco Bastone of Italy; and his stepdaughter Vivian (Joseph Pantano) of Milton. He is also survived by 18 grandchildren and numerous great and great-great grandchildren.
