He was predeceased by: his parents, Orrice C. Gentzel and Rebecca Jane Gentzel (Shirk); his wife Dorothy A. Gentzel (Fultz); his grandson Earl R. Gentzel, III; and his daughter-in-law Roxanna Gentzel.
He is survived by: his children, Earl R. Gentzel, Jr. of Somerset, David C. Gentzel (Susie) of Yeagertown and Corlene Sue Zimmerman (Russell) of Wisconsin; and his sister Janet Heck (William) of Mifflintown. He is also survived by 14 grandchildren and 18 great grandchildren.
