It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Helen Betty Cowher of Millheim, Pennsylvania, born in Bellefonte, Pennsylvania, who passed away on March 15, 2023, at the age of 90, leaving to mourn family and friends. She was predeceased by: her parents, Vance Alterio and Anna Alterio (Tenalio); her husband Joseph L. Cowher; her children, JoAnn Osterhoudt, Holly Cowher, Joe "Butch" Cowher, Douglas Cowher, Sr. and Robert Cowher, Sr.; her grandson Douglas Cowher, Jr.; and her siblings, Lucy Zimmerman, Phil (Jimmy Alterio), Rose Tressler and Nancy Fidgore (Mary Cleary).
She is survived by: her children, Sue Neideigh (Courtney) of Aaronsburg, Brenda Bartley (Lewis) of Millheim, Rick Cowher (Patty) of Castanea, Buddy Cowher (Beth) of Millheim and Charles Cowher (Janet) of Centre Hall; her siblings, Janet Hartman, Dorothy Thompson, Rosella Fetterolf, Anthony, Joey, Frank, Pete and Sonny Alterio; and her grandchildren, Tammy Jo, Ricky, Ashley of Bobby Jo, BJ, Robert, Jr., Joey, Adam, Brian, Jamie, Colby, Daniel, Matt, Alexa and Joan. She is also survived by twenty nine great grandchildren and two great great grandchildren.
