With heavy hearts, we announce the death of Joan Weir of Millerton, Pennsylvania, who passed away on January 28, 2025 at the age of 88. Leave a sympathy message to the family on the memorial page of Joan Weir to pay them a last tribute.
She was predeceased by: her parents, Thomas Brown and Jeanette Brown (Westlake); and her husband Charles H. Weir. She is survived by: her sons, Stephen Weir (Andrea) of Millerton, PA and Gary Weir of Weedsport, NY; her grandchildren, Kate, Hannah, Samantha, Lee and Robin; her sister Barbara Fisher of Velva, ND; her sisters-in-law, Charlotte Brown of Millerton, PA, Shirley Brown of Millerton, PA and Bernadette Brown of Wellsboro, PA; and her friend Joyce Sweeney of Manchester, NH. She is also survived by numerous cousins, nieces, nephews.
Visitation was held on Saturday, February 1st 2025 from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM at the Millerton United Methodist Church (5443 Main St, Millerton, PA 16936). A funeral service was held on Saturday, February 1st 2025 at 11:00 AM at the same location. A burial was held on Saturday, February 1st 2025 at 12:30 PM at the Alder Run Cemetery N.
Donations may be made in her name to the Food Pantry at the Millerton United Methodist Church, or the family asks that you donate to a local library of one's choice to encourage and promote reading.
