He was predeceased by: his parents, Leonida Ong (Obat) and Joseph Hagono Ong; his mother-in-law Grace Okumu; and his siblings, Wilfred Nundu Hagono, Maurice Ochieng', Elizabeth Akinyi, Rosa Athieno and Frederick Oluoch Wandago.
He is survived by: his wife Pamela Adhiambo Hagono; his children, Regina of Providence, RI, Nicholas of Columbia, PA and Velma (Houston Texas); and his siblings, Philomena Anyango, Frank Hagono of Seattle, USA and Tony Hagono (South Sudan). He is also survived by several nieces and nephews.
