He was predeceased by: his parents, Chester Wetzel and Grace Schade Wetzel; his brother David Wetzel; his half-brother Gary Schade; his niece Tracy Wetzel; and his nephew Anthony Schade.

He is survived by: his wife Yolanda L. Keister Wetzel; his daughter Dusti L. Wetzel; and his sisters, Janet Artz and Gail Fry.
