He was predeceased by: his parents, Leland Shaffer and Gladys Shaffer (Miller); his children, Dan, Bill, Linda (Mincer) and Becky (Grant); and his siblings, Mary (Welshans), John, Bob and Louis.
He is survived by: his wife Phyllis; his children, Bob, Tim, Judy, Karen (Myers) and Melinda (Laubscher-Anderson); and his sisters, Shirley (Karstetter) and Barb (Miller). He is also survived by 11 grandchildren, 16 great grandchildren, 2 great great grandchildren.
