Virginia Clevenstine Obituary
Virginia M (Tate) Clevenstine, 91, was welcomed into the arms of her Lord and Savior on Saturday, April 6, 2024. Born on October 9, 1932, in Bellefonte, she was the daughter of the late Ernest C. and Edith H. (Hoover) Tate.
Virginia graduated from Bellefonte Area High School in 1952. She began her 30 year career as a telephone switchboard operator with Bell Telephone. She retired in 1985.
Virginia was a character, always enjoying the making others laugh and have a good time. She cherished time spent with family and friends at gatherings. She was the peacemaker of the family, always striving to get others together and get along. Her family meant the world to her, even at 91 years old, she recently was seen playing ball with her great grandchildren over the holidays.
Virginia had two children with the late Ronald E. Clevenstine. She is survived by her son, Bart T. Clevenstine of Snow Shoe; three grandchildren, Casey Jackson, Ashley Florey (Paul), and Brittany Douglas (Jason); and six amazing great grandchildren, Kionna, Marcus, Ann, Leland, Mason, and Jaxon.
Along with her parents, Virginia was preceded in death by her son, Edward R. "Eddie" Clevenstine and her only sister, Elizabeth A. Hillard.
