Patricia Jane McCartney Obituary
Patricia "Jane" McCartney passed peacefully Tuesday evening, February 7, 2023. Jane was born August 16, 1933, and has lived a rich, full life with her loving, devoted husband and family. She was preceded in death by her parents William "Mip" and Mabel Dunkel and sisters Peggy Wilson and Nancy Park.
Jane is survived by her loyal caregivers, husband Boyd I. "Buzz" McCartney; her daughters Robin (C. Alan "Al") Rotz and their two children, Ashley (Kevin) Turner of Elverson, PA, and Dustin "DJ" Rotz of Minneapolis, MN, and Penni (Paul) Aschenbrener of Flintstone, MD, and their two children, Tanner (Allie) Lindbloom and Mason Lindbloom, both of Denver, CO. She has four beautiful great grandchildren, Blaire, Quinn, Shaye and Taite Turner, as well as a host of many loving family members and dear, life-long friends.
Jane and Buzz were married January 16, 1954 and just celebrated 69 years of marriage with their family sharing many fond memories of their years together.
She worked as a secretary for West Penn Power Company, Penn Fuel Gas, Inc. and the Instructional Development department at Penn State University. She would tell you that she loved her jobs and was very well respected at each one.
Jane and Buzz enjoyed many years of travel together, visiting family in various parts of the country, traveling for multiple business trips and vacationing for many years in Vero Beach, FL.
Jane always loved the social hours after church and was typically one of the first to choose her dessert before enjoying her meal. To honor her memory, you are invited to enjoy a sweet refreshment after her services, which will be held at the Milesburg Presbyterian Church, 103 Turnpike Street, Milesburg, PA, on Sunday, February 12, 2023. Visitation will begin at 12:00 noon. A celebration of life service will begin at 2:00 pm followed by a social hour in Jane's honor featuring some of her favorite desserts.
In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to honor Jane's memory to Milesburg Presbyterian Church, PO Box 187, Milesburg, PA 16853 or Grane Hospice Care, 115 Union Avenue, Altoona, PA 16602.
Jane's final resting place will be Shencks Cemetery, Howard, PA. Arrangements are under the direction under Dean K. Wetzler Funeral Home and Cremation Service, Inc., 201 Spring Street, Milesburg.
