Mary L. Confer Obituary
Mary L. Confer, 84 of rural Julian, surrounded by her family passed away at Eagle Valley Personal Care Home on Saturday, February 4, 2023. Mary was born on September 19, 1938 in Beech Creek a daughter of the late Joshua and Edna Lyons Rupert. On October 15, 1960 she married Laird S. Confer who survives at home after 62 years of marriage. Mary is survived by her daughters, Candace (Timothy) Maurer of rural Julian and Trudy (Jeffrey) Reese of Port Matilda; Also surviving are her 5 grandchildren, Brandon Reese, Joshua (Elizabeth) Maurer, Jared (Abby) Maurer, Courtney (Steve) Logue and Alyssa Maurer; and her 5 great-grandchildren Amelia.
Maurer, Jaxon Maurer, Willow Maurer, Levi Maurer and Indie Maurer.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by 1 brother, 5 step brothers and 2 step sisters.
Mary was of the Protestant faith. She was co-owner of Confer Transportation with her husband, Laird. She was a member of Quilts of Valor and enjoyed knitting, sewing, camping, traveling and especially spending time with her grandchildren.
Family and friends will be received on Wednesday, February 8, 2023 from 9 AM - 11 AM at the Dean K. Wetzler Funeral Home and Cremation Service, Inc. 201 Spring St., Milesburg, with the funeral service to follow at 11 AM with Pastor Richard Gilbaugh officiating. Burial will be in Schencks Cemetery, Howard Twp., Centre Co.
