James R. Klinger Sr. Obituary
James R. "Jim" Klinger, Sr, 86, of Runville passed away on Sunday, January 15, 2023, surrounded by his family. Jim was born in Bellefonte on May 1, 1936 the son of the late John L. and Marjorie Smith Klinger. On May 7, 1956 he married the former Shirley L. Rogers (Klinger) who survives at home. Jim is also survived by his children, Shirl (Thomas) Kepler of Allensville, James R. Klinger, Jr. of Moshannon, Rickie (Trudy) Snyder of Mingoville; his 7 grandchildren, Ashlee (Bryan) Kochick of Pleasant Gap, Zoie Klinger of Zion, Chad (Katheryn) Hazel-Kepler of State College, Jeremy Snyder, Brandon Snyder, Ryan Snyder, Cassie (Ryan) Poorman and his 12 great grandchildren, Bowon Kochick, Locklyn Kochick and Asher Hazel-Kepler, Charles Snyder Jadyn Soboleski, Aiden Snyder, Lilliana Snyder, Jocelyn Snyder, Greyson Snyder, Gracie Poorman, Colten Poorman and Levi Poorman. Along with his parents he was preceded in death by his 3 brothers and 3 sisters.
Jim was a heavy equipment operator for Con-Stone. He was a member of the Pleasant Valley United Methodist Church. He loved to tinker (the original MacGyver). He was the one man who could fix any mechanical problem his family or friends ever had and always seemed to have the part that was needed for the repair. He also enjoyed camping, hunting and riding motorcycle.
Family and friends will be received at the Dean K. Wetzler Funeral Home and Cremation Service, Inc., on Thursday, January 19, 2023 from 9 AM to 11 AM with a funeral service to follow with Pastor Jeanette Desmond and Pastor Douglas Mellott officiating. Burial will be held at the convenience of the family. Memorial contributions may be made in memory of Jim to the Pleasant Valley United Methodist Church, 1106 Fairview Road, Howard, PA 16841.
