Estella was born to the late Joseph Toy Bryan leathers and Myda Belle (McCartney) Leathers on March 4, 1930, in Marsh Creek, PA. She spent her early childhood on a small farm in Runville, PA. She loved helping her dad with the outside chores and helping tend the animals. She loved to tell us about going out in the pasture to bring in the cows.

Estella attended Bellefonte High School where she met her sweetheart, Joseph Hicks. She graduated with her class the spring of 1947. Later that same year Estella and Joseph were married on August 6, 1947 in Hagerstown, MD. They shared a very loving and devoted life filled with many adventures. They were always together working around the home, gardening, camping, fishing, traveling or working on one of Joe's many inventions.

Estella loved her life on what is loving known as Hicks Hill. She enjoyed watching the wildlife and even named some of the animals.

Estella loved going to yard sales where she would find a treasure. She enjoyed playing games and her favorite was scrabble. She excelled at that game.
