Elizabeth J. Joiner Obituary
Elizabeth Jean "Betty" Joiner, 95, formerly of Rock Hall, MD, passed away peacefully on Monday, October 9, 2023, at the Wynwood House in Centre Hall, PA. Born on March 1, 1928, in Audubon, PA, she was the daughter of the late Frank and Grace (Forgwell) Ivens. She was married to James W. Buckwalter, Alfred Young, and William Louis Joiner.
Betty attended Norristown High School. She was a homemaker. She was of the Christian faith.
Betty enjoyed reading, flower gardening, caring for farm animals, watching owls, and all the wildlife that would come into their yard. She loved spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren and great grandchildren.
Betty is survived by her children: James Buckwalter and his wife, Sharron, of Radford, VA, Dorothy Jenson of Tuson, AZ, Diane Wood and her companion, Mike Basil, of Stowe, PA, Christine Faust and her husband, Harold, of Sumneytown, PA, Sandra Gruber and her husband, Herbert, of Frenchville, PA, Lynn Husted and her husband, Scott, of Drifting, PA, Florence Lee of Pennsburg, PA, and Melissa Duka of Boyertown, PA. She is also survived by 16 grandchildren, four great grandchildren, and 12 great-great grandchildren.
Along with her parents and husbands, Betty was preceded in death by a son, Daniel Buckwalter, two great grandchildren, four brothers and two sisters. She was the last of her generation.
Following Betty's wishes; there will be no services. She will be privately laid to rest at the Falkner Swamp Reformed Cemetery in New Hanover Twp and will join her deceased husband, Alfred in eternity.
