David W. Reed Sr. Obituary

David W. Reed, Sr., 67, of rural Bellefonte passed away at his sons residence on Sunday, January 1, 2023. David was born in Bellefonte on December 5, 1955, the son of the late George P. and Alice E. McCool Reed. He married the former Thelma Gardner (Reed) who preceded him in death on December 18, 2016. He is survived by his children, Patricia A. Reed of Lock Haven, David W.(Amy) Reed, Jr. of Newton Hamilton, Michael G. (Beth) Reed of Rebersburg; his siblings, Mary (Dave) Reese of Bellefonte, Rick (Beatrice) Reed of Centre Hall, Judy (Dan) Lose of Centre Hall and James (Carol) Reed of Milesburg. David is also survived by his 13 grandchildren, Jennifer Kephart, Larry Kephart, Odessa Reed, Quinton Reed, Allie Jo Haines, Braydon Reed, David W. Reed, III, Emily Wolfe, Timothy Wolfe, Cameron Ammon, Madison Ammon, Alexes Swanger and Dustin Swanger. Along with his parents and wife he was preceded in death by his brother, Randy Reed and his grandson, Terrance Reed.

He was a christian. He served his country proudly in the United States Marine Corps. He was a Janitor at the Milesburg American Legion. He was a life member of the Milesburg American Legion, Post 893, the Democratic Club of Clarence and enjoyed camping at the Snow Shoe Campground. He enjoyed hunting, fishing and playing cards.

Family and friends will be received at the Dean K. Wetzler Funeral Home and Cremation Service, Inc., on Wednesday, January 4, 2023 from 5 PM to 7 PM. Military honors will be accorded at the funeral home. Burial will be held at the convenience of the family.
