Barry W. McKinley Obituary
Barry W. McKinley, 82, of rural Bellefonte passed away at Mount Nittany Medical Center on Tuesday, March 28, 2023. Barry was born in Bellefonte on June 16, 1940, the son of the late Donald A. and Thelma A. Witherite McKinley. On May 26, 1962 he married Joyce E. (Fisher) McKinley who survives at home.
He was a 1958 graduate of Bald Eagle Area High School. Barry was a Research Machinist at Penn State University. He was in the PA Army National Guard for over 30 years as a 1st Sgt. with the 2nd-112th with the 28th division of the Bellefonte-Tyrone Unit. He was of the Protestant faith. He was a member of the Bellefonte Lodge #268 F & A M, the Milesburg Lions Club and the Nittany Antique Machinery Assoc. He enjoyed hunting, rebuilding tractors and woodworking. He was a Coach for the Runville Little League.
Along with his wife he is survived by his children, Tina (Kerry) O'Hara, Lois Chambers, Donna Bowmaster, LuAnn Bruno, all of Bellefonte; his sister, Cheryl A. (Lance) Miller of Julian and his brother, Gary A. McKinley of Bellefonte. He is also survived by his grandchildren, Donielle (Mark Potora) Holderman of Bellefonte, Nicole (Yanni) Barakos of Gettysburg, Laura (Eric) Murnyack of Clarence, James (Rachel) Foust of Centre Hall, Jeremy (Alicia) Foust of Snow Shoe, Corey Bowmaster of Bellefonte, Stephen (Ashley) Vaughn of Spring Mills, Thomas Vaughn of Clarence, Wade (Michellea) Vaughn of Millheim. Barry is also survived by several nieces and nephews. Along with his parents he was preceded in death by his sister, Sharon DeCoursey, his daughter, Tracey McKinley and his son Timothy McKinley and his grandchildren, Emily Bowmaster, Matthew Confer and Raedyn Holderman.
Family and friends will be received at the Dean K. Wetzler Funeral Home and Cremation Service, Inc. on Friday, March 31, 2023 from 6 PM to 8 PM. with a Masonic Service at 7:45. Funeral services will be held at the funeral home on Saturday, April 1, 2023 at 11 AM. Military honors will be accorded at the funeral home following the service. Burial will be held at the convenience of the family.
