He was predeceased by: his parents, Michael Basala and Anna Basala (Yurchak); his brother Alex Basala; his stepson James Reynolds; and his nephews, Michael and James Buck.
He is survived by: his close friend Sheila Reynolds; his stepdaughter Sandy Reynolds; his sister Sandra Buck (James); and his niece Michelle Buck.
