He was predeceased by: his parents, Preston L. Lawton and Hope W. Lawton (Girton); his wives, Kathryn A. "Kate" Lawton (Buck) and JoAnne Lawton (Linder); and his sister Joyce Lehman.
He is survived by: his children, Daniel J. Lawton (Patricia) of Bloomsburg and Amy K. (Gordon Acornley, Jr.) of Orangeville; his grandchildren, Hope Phillips, Jake Lawton, Spencer Acornley and Lucas Acornley; and his stepgrandsons, Jacob Martz, Nathan Martz and Caleb Martz.
