He was predeceased by: his parents, Earl Hartzel and Hazel Hartzel (Hess); and his brother James Hartzel. He is survived by: his wife Nancy Jane Hartzel; his daughters, Kathleen Hartzel of Pittsburgh and Carolyn Broadt (Dan) of Bloomsburg; his grandchildren, Rebecca Winkler (Aaron) of Bethlehem, Kristen Gol (Dan) of Bethlehem, Michael Broadt of Bloomsburg and Joshua Broadt of Bloomsburg; his great grandchild Landon Winkler of Bethlehem; and his brothers, Charles Hartzell (Lucy) and Marvin Hartzell (Linda).
