It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Willis Allen Nearhood Sr. of Mifflintown, Pennsylvania, born in Huntingdon, Pennsylvania, who passed away on August 28, 2023, at the age of 69, leaving to mourn family and friends. He was predeceased by: his parents, Allen Charles and Lucy Marie Nearhood (Watkins); his wife Barbara A. Nearhood (Booher); and his sister Veronica Nearhood. He is survived by: his children, Willis A. Nearhood Jr. (Candy) and Jill C. Batterson (James); his grandchildren, Christian Wallace, Carissa Nearhood, Noah Nearhood, Selah Nearhood, Jayna Delaney, Audrey Batterson and Ellie Batterson; and his siblings, Bonita Hooper (Frank) and Roger Nearhood (Teresa). He is also survived by many nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
