She was predeceased by: her parents, John J. Thompson and Francis Harper Thompson; her husband Joseph William Shirk (Bill); her granddaughter Deanna R. Shirk; and her siblings, Violet Peters (Carl), John Thompson (Shirley) and William Thompson.
She is survived by: her sons, James W. (Sue Shirk) and Thomas L. (Judy Shirk); her granddaughters, Wendy (Kevin Warren), Carrie (Chad Cross) and Jennifer (Benjamin Harris); her great grandchildren, Michael, Brady Warren, Gabriel, Joy Harris, Braelynn DeMers and Elaina Cross; and her sister-in-law Helen Thompson of Myrtle Beach. She is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews.
