It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Alvah Smith of Mifflinburg, Pennsylvania, born in New Castle, Pennsylvania, who passed away on January 28, 2021, at the age of 93, leaving to mourn family and friends. He was predeceased by: his parents, William J. Smith and Ruth Edna Smith; his wife Anna Reber; his sister Leona Burk; and his son-in-law Pastor David L. Benfer.
He is survived by: his children, Louann R. Benfer of Mifflinburg and Alvie W.; his daughter-in-law Karen S. Smith of Mifflinburg; his grandchildren, Ryan (Rebecca McAfee), Robert (Beth O'Connell), Benjamin (Amanda Benfer), Brythan Benfer, Kevin (Johanna Klinger), Isaac (Beth Smith), Rev. Shane (Emily Chamberlin) and Aimee Smith; his great grandchildren, Calvin, David, Eva, Nathan and Wayne; and his sisters, Barbara Siemond of Pittsburgh and Joyce Badger of Arkansa.
