He was predeceased by: his parent Frederick Alrutz; and his siblings, Donald Alrutz, Mildred Koty, Marlene Alrutz and Alice Hlavay.

He is survived by: his parent Irene Williamson Alrutz; his wife Roberta "Betsy" Shoup Alrutz; his children, John Wayne Alrutz (Helen) of Midway and Heather Massey (Mike) of Midway; and his grandchildren, Gregory Alrutz, Nikolas, Jakob and Kolton Massey.

In lieu of flowers, the family suggests that memorial donations be made to Raccoon Presbyterian Church, 858 Candor Road, Bulger, PA 15019.
