He is survived by: his wife Rachael H. Root; his sons, Forrest P. Root (Michelle) of Virginia and David G. Root (Vicki) of Delaware; and his sister Gayle Gildea of Hummelstown. He is also survived by six grandchildren, ten great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.
