He was predeceased by: his parents, Willem J. Nieuwkuyk and Xenia Van Nieuwkuyk; his siblings, Martin Van Nieuwkuyk and Maud Hood; and his nephew Paul Van Nieuwkuyk.
He is survived by: his wife Joyce Van Nieuwkuyk; his children, Michael Van Nieuwkuyk (Julie) and Nadine Derataney (Dean); and his grandchildren, Dominique Ventimiglia, Nicholas Ventimiglia, Ryan Van Nieuwkuyk, Macy Van Nieuwkuyk, Evan Van Nieuwkuyk and Drew Van Nieuwkuyk.
