He was predeceased by: his parents, Norwood R. Garrison and Mary Layne (Via); his daughter Tracey L. Smith (Via); and his sisters, Margie Wintergrass and Sally Imler Dull.

He is survived by: his wife Susan Garrison (Watson); his children, Scott Garrison and Virginia Garrison (Brian Hicks) of Middletown; and his brother Stanley Garrison of Seguin, TX. He is also survived by eleven grandchildren; nineteen great-grandchildren.
