He was predeceased by: his parents, Clyde L. Wells, Sr. and Elenor Wells (Plazarin); his brother Ricky Wells; his stepmother Dolores "Dee" Wells; and his in-laws, Robert and Dorothy "Dot" Hoover.

He is survived by: his wife Marilyn "Micki" A. Wells (Hoover); his daughters, Rachel Schwemmer (Michael) and Melissa Sexton (Dan); his grandchildren, Alex, MJ Schwemmer, Emma and Owen Sexton; his extended family, Elaine, Ron, Edna, Donna and Lori; and his nieces, Molly Smith and Erika Connell.
