He was predeceased by: his parents, John Smarsh and DeLilis Pentz (Keirn); his daughter Natalie Smarsh; and his brothers, Kenneth, George and Norman Smarsh.
He is survived by: his daughters, Michele Suggs (Troy) of New Cumberland and Amanda Strunge (Matthew Arntd) of Dillsburg; his sister Judith Galloway (Benjamin); and his grandson Dereck Perez. He is also survived by several nieces and nephews.
