He was predeceased by: his parents, Antoni Dobson and Felicia Dobson (Kotwica); his wife Rita Dobson (Macko); his son John Dobson; and his siblings, Josephine Shubert, Anthony and Albert Dobson.

He is survived by: his children, Leonard J. Dobson Jr., Philip Dobson (Brandi), Steven A. Dobson, Judith A. Figiel (Thomas) and Jacqueline Dobson; and his sister Genevieve Daniels. He is also survived by twelve grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren.
