He was predeceased by: his parents, John B. Patten and Blanche Patten (Edwards). He is survived by: his wife Miriam "Mim"; his sons, George B. (Donna), Michael S., John "Joel" L. (Betsy), Steven D. (Tracey) and Mark E. Patten; and his sister Susan Teixeira. He is also survived by his seventeen grandchildren and seventeen great grandchildren.

Memorial contributions may be made to John's Church or to "Tunnel to Towers Foundation", 2361 Hylan Boulevard, Staten Island, NY 10306.
